Kate Middleton made her first appearance as the Princess of Wales, in a sparkling crystal tiara. The royals arrived for a special banquet at Buckingham Palace to welcome South African President–President Cyril Ramaphosa. In terms of her sartorial choices, the Princess wore a spectacular swan-hued gown by designer–Jenny Packham. The regal white silhouette featured elevated shoulders, that came stitched with tiny stars, and flowers, embroidered in crystal thread, and sequins. The long-cape sleeves complemented Princess Kate’s royal blue sash.

The lover’s knot tiara by Queen Mary, was one of Princess Diana’s favourite pieces. A part of her jewellery stack were a pair of earrings, and a bracelet, loaned from her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth’s treasured jewels. Joining Kate, and Prince William at the special gala were King Charles III, and Queen Camilla.

Queen Camilla also took her new role and arrived in her Belgian Sapphire Tiara of the late Queen Elizabeth. Complimenting her crystal jewels was a striking, electric blue gown that featured blue lace sleeves, and a brooch-decorated waist. Paying homage to her mother-in-law, Queen Consort picked up a special Sapphire-encrusted neckpiece and earring.

While women chose to wear heirloom jewels, men from the royal family picked up neat, and crisp black pantsuits, teamed with royal badges, and bow-tie. Welcoming the African President to the United Kingdom, the gala marked the first formal state visit hosted by the newly-crowned king Charles III.
