From Ram Charan’s Achkan To Rihanna In Schiaparelli Black, Best Dressed Stars At The Golden Globes
The Golden Globes returned for its annual edition this year at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and as per usual, both great and drab fashion walked the red carpet. While many winners scripted history including Indian film– RRR, some seemed to have missed the opportunity with their sartorial choices. In attendance were the biggest of Hollywood stars including new mom Rihanna, Margot Robbie, Jenna Ortega and more, who made some impressive style moves on the red carpet. Here’s a look at some of our favourite looks from the evening.
Ram Charan
Our very own Indian actor Ram Charan made sure to dazzle on his debut at the Golden Globes. For the historic win, the actor trusted designer Tarun Tahiliani and wore a form-fitted sherwani style kurta and matching pants in black. The black achkan on the actor featured intricate pleated detailing on the sides, which he accessorised using a pair of sunglasses and shoes.

Rihanna
One of the best-dressed stars from the evening has to be our beloved Rihanna. The new mommy in town chose a monumental gown by Schiaparelli. The black, asymmetrical silhouette on the singer featured an intricate ruched detail, topped off with a velvet, long ruffled overcoat. The long-trailing jacketed gown on Riri was further styled using a diamond neckpiece, and earrings, with hair styled into a rolled-up bun. An interesting detail to the look was added through hand gloves and a vintage clutch that she sported at the awards night.

Ana de Armas
Twinning with Rihanna in black was Blonde star–Ana de Armas, who wore a spectacular monochrome gown by the designer house–Louis Vuitton. The actress and Golden Globes nominee’s silhouette featured a strapless panel in the front, embellished with patterned rhinestone detailing. The design further was an interesting spin on a ballroom gown, which Ana chose to keep minimal at best. She further loaned inspiration from the 60s and early 70s for her simple makeup, and winged eyeliner, with tresses, let loose.

Another member to join attendees in team black, was musician Selena Gomez. The “Calm Down” singer wore a Maison Valentino gown. The actress/singer’s aubergine, voluminous gown in velvet featured bishop sleeves, and a draped long trail attached beneath the sleeves. Jenna Ortega
Our very own Wednesday dressed up for the big Tuesday night in an almost nude-coloured gown by the label Gucci. The silhouette was a unique pick from the designer house’s Spring Summer 2023 collection. The crumpled, and pleated silhouette featured long-trailing, asymmetrical hemlines, and a two-way cross-wrap detailing on the bodice. She further slayed the look with her newly chopped curtain bob and picked diamonds to complete the ensemble.

Jennifer Coolidge
The Golden Globes winner in the category of ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Limited Series’ not only stole the show with her moving speech but sparkled in a skin-tight Dolce & Gabbana gown. The sequin-laden silhouette was an indicator of Coolidge’s love for off-shoulder necklines, and sequins, that compliment her blonde hair. The White Lotus star further completed the look using a matching black clutch.

Margot Robbie
Not the best dressed on the red carpet, all thanks to Margot getting back with Chanel, the actress at least addressed the world’s obsession towards Barbiecore in her poetic pink gown. Literally dressed as Barbie, Robbie’s gown featured a halter neckline, topped off with a tiny diamond brooch and a net-feather detailing attached like a skirt to her slim-fit gown. Definitely not one of our favourites, but she won marks for that pink.

Emma D’Arcy
A star in the making, or maybe an already bright one, actress Emma D’Arcy brought sartorial excellence through her selection. Masterfully styling a look from Acne Studios. the House Of The Dragon actress wore an interesting form of a black-tie suit. A part of her ensemble was a white shirt, tucked deep inside her anti-fit blazer, falling over a black, long-slit kilt, and a pair of straight black pants sitting beneath. She further accessorised the look with accents of blue, punctuated with glossy hand gloves, her short hair bob tinted with blue streaks in the front, a flower brooch and a cross-strap tie. And how can we ignore how marvellously she brought Euphoria’s emotional glam-inspired makeup to life? Incredible!
