Filmfare OTT Awards 2021: The Fashion Line Up Brings The Best Dressed In Silk And Satin Again!

Filmfare OTT Awards 2021: The Fashion Line Up Brings The Best Dressed In Silk And Satin Again!

In Ananya Panday’s words “I know everyone’s looking at Katrina Kaif and  Vicky Kaushal wedding pictures (because same) but hiii.” Last night was eventful for another reason, which was the star-studded red carpet at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2021. From Taapsee Pannu and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the internet’s favourite Kusha Kapila and Mithila Palkar, celebrities arrived for the big awards night. Honouring the best performances in the OTT space, the MyGlamm Filmfare OTT Awards 2021 was quite a starry affair.

Awardees including Radhika Madan, Sharib Hashmi, Huma Qureshi were accompanied by attendees like Konkona Sen Sharma, Ananya Panday, Aahana Kumra, Sanya Malhotra amongst others. And here is a list of the best-dressed (although they could’ve done a l’il better) sitaare who made a mark with their fashion choices.

Taapsee Pannu

Donning a strapless semi-bouffant dress, Taapsee Pannu made an appearance in a crisp Ashwin Thiyagarajan design. Wearing the royal brocade with a modern twist, the dress featured upcycled banarasi panels from the label’s previous collections, with a burst of colours like magenta, gold, pink, blue and green. Accessorising the entire look with Ashwin Goenka studs, the entire ensemble was simple, a little unflattering but the sustainable element wins it for me.

Ananya Panday

Last night was a Barbie moment for the Student Of The Year 2 actress as she wore a ballroom gown in the shade pink. Sporting the Naeem Khan strapless, satin outfit, stylist Megan Concessio brought the look together with diamond semi ear-cuffs by jet gems, a simple bracelet to match the shine, some pink glitter for the eyes and a nude lip shade. Simple, chic and super dreamy, right Ananya?

Sanya Malhotra

Dressed like Filmfare’s black lady, Pagglait actress Sanya Malhotra’s ensemble was quite a head-turner. Wearing the body con, side cut-out evening gown by designer Esha Sethi Thirani, the black straight fit came embellished with grey and white beaded embroidery throughout the piece. An accurate example of power dressing, stylist Sukriti Grover accessorised the glam look with statement long diamond thread earrings and a sleek, neat bun to complement it all well.

Radhika Madan

Quite an experimenter when it comes to silhouettes, Radhika Madan looked vibrant in a satin drape dress in the hottest shade of the year. The actress accessorised the entire look with diamond jewels, a statement broach to keep the drape intact and a pair of silver lace-up stilettoes (quite the space suit vibes, I must say).

Konkona Sen Sharma

Relying on her beautiful saree closet, each time she plans to step out. Konkona Sen Sharma made a stunning appearance in an ethereal gold drape. Accepting the award for the ‘Best Actor, Web Original Film’ for her performance in Ajeeb Daastaans, the actress opted for a classic silk saree, with a blouse in the same shade and absolute minimal jewellery to go with it (it’s the saree for me again).

Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Bringing in her boho best avatar to the big night, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opted for a bold Anamika Khanna number. The three-piece set came with a black bralette, a multi-layered ruffle skirt and a heavily embellished red cape jacket, complementing which was the bronzed make-up and a beautiful choker to seal it all. A rather special one for the actress as she accepted the award for the ‘Best Actor, Series (drama)’ for her performance in The Family Man 2 (a well-deserving win), we loved the outfit, Ms Prabhu.

Manoj Bajpayee

Apart from the actresses who were all dolled up in satin and silk, actor Manoj Bajpayee too came well-suited up in a black blazer layered over a black turtle neck and pants in the same shade. Winning the title of the Best Actor Series (Critics) for his performance in The Family Man 2, the actor’s ensemble was a class act.

Mithila Palkar

Dressed like a ray of beautiful sunshine, the web’s favourite female, Mithila Palkar opted for a multi-tier yellow tulle by the designer Shivani Awasty. The alluring semi-sheer piece made a statement with the ruffle talk, styled well with a low bun and pearl drop-down earrings. Though the whimsical look has made it to the red carpet quite a lot of times, we loved it on Mithila, who pulled off the entire ensemble with an added freshness by the bright sunny hue.

Kusha Kapila

When talking about all things OTT and of course the born on web stars, Kusha Kapila is the name we definitely can’t miss. Wearing a classic piece by designers Shantanu and Nikhil, the ready to wear minimalist drape dress in the shade navy blue was an apt choice for the evening event. Seen hosting a segment on the red carpet, the content queen completed the look with a regular smokey eye and a pair of diamond hoops (well done Kusha, this def. looked like a last-minute gorg look)

Filmfare OTT 2021 turned out to be a big night for Scam 1992 and The Family Man 2. And on the actors front, Huma Qureshi and Manoj Bajpayee took home the award for The Best Actor, Series (Critics), Radhika Madan and Aushotosh Rana won Best Supporting Actor, Web Orignal and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was awarded as the Best Actor Web Original Film.

Apart from the glorious list of winners, what caught our eyes was a life-size cut out of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, placed for the attendees to wish the newly-weds (quite cute, Filmfare)!
