Pretty Flowers

The new-age tool for revenge dressing, post the two-year long halt has found a safe space in decorative prints especially eye-popping flowers. Displaying a version of every kind, I witnessed the incorporation of flowers that are pretty and equally fierce. Applied onto breezy summer fabrics, and stuck alongside geometric patterns, flowers guided the energy for many designer showcases like by, Payal Pratap, Pramaa by Pratima Pandey, Rahul Mishra, Satya Paul and more.

Rooting for sequins this year were designer labels Manish Malhotra, Suneet Varma, Nirmooha to Tarun Tahiliani. Replacing the old-school tiny glitter elements with bold and quirky shaped sequins, designers introduced them in almost every silhouette from exaggerated sleeves, to stunning sarees. With disco serving as the perfect theme for 2022, we can surely say that its time to get your hands on the glitter because its soon going to be everywhere.

Layered Cutwork

While cutwork embroideries have resided in Indian ethnic designs for years, this season, many designers offered a distinct essence with it. With intricately designed patchwork to layered embroidered elements, designers like Pankaj Nidhi, Rahul Mishra, Manish Malhotra designed garments featuring the beauty of two and three dimensional embroidery to add a sense of depth and drama to the overall look.

Greasy Hair

Gels are sealing the deal again and the greasy, glossy hair trend is back. Opted by many designers, greasy hair became an important styling element for runway showcases. Experimenting with the wet hair look, many hairstylists adorned hair with funky jewels, created baby hair waves for a chic and neat look, much-like what Euphoria‘s Maddy would love to create.
