Kangana Ranaut Turns Showstopper For Khadi India At FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week
For the first time in nearly two years since the pandemic began, the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week has gone back to the physical mode. It kicked off on March 23 and the grand finale of the show, Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale will be held on March 27. FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week organised by Lakmé & RISE Worldwide is being held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Day 2 of the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week was all about celebrating sustainable fashion. Several designers and labels were a part of it including Ka-sha, Anju Modi, Diksha Khanna and Prama by Pratima Pandey. The FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week had a Khadi Presentation which included several designers. In a bid to promote Indian products, Thalaivi actress, Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp as the showstopper for Khadi India Presentation.
The Khadi India Presentation was put together by MOSSI Abhishek Gupta Benares, Anavila, Anju Modi, Charu Parashar and Rina Dhaka at the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week. The actress was dressed in a simple off-white Jamdani saree paired with a sleeveless blouse and a long off-white cardigan. Her look was accessorized with an emerald encrusted necklace and matching drop earrings with emerald beads. Her hair was styled in a high bun paired with nude pink lipstick and winged eyeliner.

Speaking to the media after walking the ramp at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week, Kangana Ranaut shared that it was a pleasure to be back on the ramp walking for something like Khadi. She went on to add that she promotes all Indian fabrics while pointing out that these days the entire world is talking bout organic, skin-friendly and environment-friendly fabrics which are mostly Asiab fabrics that have been around for a while. “There is proof that in pre-historic times we used to supply fabrics to the whole world. We talk about the environment – synthetic fabric is so bad for sea life, water or soil,” Kangana was quoted saying by News 18.

Talking about her showstopper outfit at the Khadi India Presentation at the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week, Kangana Ranaut said the Jamdani saree that she is wearing is slowly becoming extinct and will soon disappear. “Only the last generation of people are making it. It is such a beautiful weave from Bengal. There are so many kinds of fabrics like this that are disappearing,” said the actress as per News 18.
