After a very long wait of two years, and post many rounds of digital and phygital showcases amid the trying times offered by the pandemic, the fashion and beauty household titles of India–Lakmé Fashion Week (jointly organised by Lakmé & RISE Worldwide) and the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) have joined hands and turned hosts for a fully on-ground, physical, season-fluid edition of fashion week at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, from March 23 till March 27, 2022, with all safety regulations. And given that all fashion souls can’t wait to witness the magic of India’s top creators unfold on the big stage, we have got our hands on the list of designers and partners for the much-awaited show. Yes, you read that right. From Manish Malhotra to JJ Valaya the line-up is exciting and how!

While some popular titles will return to the runway with newer creative designs, some new names will light up the stage too. Designer Manish Malhotra will bring a breeze of fresh styles and trendsetting designs through the launch of his label’s new category– DIFFUSE. A roaster of celebrated designers with marquee showcases will include names like Pankaj & Nidhi, Reynu Taandon, Pawan Sachdeva, Siddartha Tytler, Outhouse and more. Additionally, FDCI will showcase Ashish N Soni and present a Khadi curation that will mark its presence, including French-Malian designer, Mossi Traoré and popular Indian designers like– Anju Modi, Anavila, Charu Parashar, Rina Dhaka, and Abhishek Gupta Benares.

On the collaborative front, many previously-associated partners will return to the platform to collaborate with leading designers and showcase an exciting lineup curated by– TENCEL™ LUXE x JJ Valaya, Lakmé Salon x Varun Bahl, NEXA x Tarun Tahiliani, Bata x Suneet Varma, boAt x HUEMN, amongst others. While, fresh brand titles like realme and John Jacobs will join hands with ace designers Shantnu and Nikhil as well as, Shivan & Narresh to put up a spectacular show, Adidas Originals will partner with Khanijo and Antar Agni for their showcase.

Championing sustainability with important messages on inclusivity and diversity, the platform will also exhibit stunning designs in the realm. Moreover, through Sustainable Fashion Day, the event will include showcases by R|Elan™ x Satya Paul by Rajesh Pratap Singh, FDCI KHADI Show, Bemberg™ x Payal Pratap, RISE Worldwide X Fashion For Good: Innovation for Circularity – Nitin Bal Chauhan, Divyam Mehta and Ka-Sha and the return of the coveted Circular Design Challenge – an initiative of R|Elan™ in collaboration with FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week and UN in India & United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Promoting young talent through its legacy, the five-day-long event will also incorporate, prestigious talent discovery programs and designer collection showcases of an exclusive range of sustainable natural fibre products, by ReshaMandi.

The five-day-long event will come to an end with Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale slated for March 27, 2022. FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week is geared up with India’s finest designer houses, chart-busting designs and a lot more for us to witness.
