The extravaganza of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week is returning back to Mumbai. For another set of trends and designer collection presentations, the two powerhouses of India’s fashion world are gearing up for the biggest week. Starting from October 12 and ending on October 16, 2022, the fully on-ground edition presents a roster of up-and-coming designers, alongside the industry’s pioneers. Running for over five days, designers will bring the style memo of the festive season, fresher trends and exciting collaborations.

And talking about the latter, first on the list is the ever-evolving relationship between fashion and technology. From tech tutored stitches to the fascinating world of the metaverse, the partnership between technology and fashion has brought many exciting collaborations into play. Besides being a bridge for designer houses and their consumer base, technology has time and again proved the limitless power of fashion and science. And bringing an interesting amalgamation of the two is the second edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week 2022, through designers Amit Aggarwal and Saaksha & Kinni.

For celebrated couturier Amit Aggarwal, futuristic fabric has always been an interesting territory to experiment within. Putting a new perspective on materials and pattern making, the designer has always set a distinct spot for himself in the industry. And now for his latest outing at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week, Aggarwal hopes to fix a successful marriage between technology and style. The designer’s upcoming range of designs is loaning inspiration from the RealMe GT NEO 3T phone.

Partnering with RealMe, Aggarwal will explore modern materials and edgy craftsmanship. Titled–ONYX, the designs will replicate the features of RealMe GT NEO 3T phone, including the checkered flag designs that share a deep connection with speed, passion and glory. The collection will embody the designer’s constant quest for reinvention. To celebrate the irregularities of life and often switching modes of calmness and chaos, colours like black, white and silver, will take the lead.

In terms of fabric and sculptural silhouettes, rubber corded bodices will find a match in micro hemlines. The collection will be painted with the spirit of festive cheer.

For its upcoming presentation, Saaksha &  Kinni will return to their signature colour play, mixed with a variety of silhouettes. The brand’s celebration of bold designs will continue through this partnership, which aims to put versatile fashion under the spotlight. Loaning inspiration from Logitech’s youthful, futuristic product designs, the designer collection will play around detailed geometric designs, peppy colours and a heavy incorporation of mirrors. Titled–Prism, the partnership hopes to make work from anywhere look stylish, fun, and productive. With the essence of states like–Gujarat and Rajasthan, staying at its core, the latest range will bring an array of tie-dye, abstract, playful prints, colourful threadwork, funky embroidery, tassels and a metallic base.
