Deepika Padukone has made sure to showcase her sartorial prowess at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. From wearing Sabyasachi’s dazzling sequin saree to opting for Louis Vuitton to pay regular red carpet visits, Deepika has made headlines and how. And now marking her attendance at this year’s closing ceremony in Cannes, DP dished out another spectacular saree look and well we love it!
Wearing a stunning creation by designer duo–Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Deepika arrived in a dramatic off-white saree, with a long trail. The pleated ruffles on the saree matched the grace and intricacy of a pearl and crystal laden bustier. This look also gives a modern spin to the signature saree. The pleated hemlines and voluminous appeal of the ruffles, match the silhouette of a beautiful blooming flower. The added transparency of the semi-sheer saree makes the ensemble both ethereal and bold. Accessorising the look further, Deepika topped it all off with an unconventional hand-embroidered, statement pearl collar. The collar definitely is my favourite element in the ensemble, since it adds a royal finish to the entire look, something designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are celebrated for.

Much like her previous looks, this one too was styled by DP’s stylist–Shaleena Nathani. The dramatic drape was brought to life by popular saree draper Dolly Jain. To further match the pearl and ivory in her saree, Deepika opted for kundan and polki ear studs and a white manicure. For hair and makeup, Deepika coloured her eye lids and lips with beige shimmer, nude lip shade and sealed her hair into a neat bun.
