Deepika Padukone has finally arrived in her true sartorial spirit at Cannes. After her feather laden custom Louis Vuitton dress, I knew ma’am Padukone is starting to get her Cannes fashion right. Wearing a strapless outfit from the archives of designer label Richard Quinn’s Fall 2022 RTW collection, Deepika twirls in a massive tulle dress with statement-making neon pink roses calling for our attention. Inspired by print designer Richard Quinn’s love for English flowers scaled up into voluminous silhouettes and highlighter hues, the freshness bloats the frame, with a splash of colours painting Deepika with all the happy shades. Making space for Quinn’s prowess in prints in her Cannes closet, Deepika manages to pull off the bold and right in the eye design language, as she walks an extra mile and styles it with matching floral boots. Punctuating the spring flowers and dramatic silhouette, is the draped black bandeau attached to the bodice, that allows our eyes to take a brief break from the ongoing print party and take a look at Deepika’s lovely smile.

Completing the twirl-worthy attire, Deepika alongside her stylist Shaleena Nathani invest less time and space in jewels, as the two decide upon a pair of small monochrome ear studs. For the print to do the talking, DP seals her hair into a messy top-knot and goes basic with her face makeup. This is also a moment of sigh, that finally, ma’am Padukone has arrived with her fashion A-game and now we’re excited to watch out for more such looks.

Earlier, Deepika chose labels like Sabyasachi, Louis Vuitton and Ashi Studio to make frequent visits on the red carpet this past week. While we were happy to see the Gehraiyaan star sizzle alongside cinema’s most celebrated artists on the jury panel, her fancy, over-styled looks did not fall in place. But nevertheless, we love this new Richard Quinn look and hope to see more exciting pairings like this on DP.
