Barbie Ferreira Won’t Be Returning For ‘Euphoria Season 3’. We’re Bursting Into Tears While We list Her Kat’s Iconic Style Moments
In times today, it is rare to find a show that earns the tag of being– iconic. And one name that instantly pops in my head is Euphoria. HBO’s most popular show already returned for its second season, and now we all are hoping to time travel and reach 2024 to meet the third. But amidst this buzz around the show’s forthcoming instalment, one new update has us surprised. Actress Barbie Ferreira AKA Kat is sadly saying alvida to the show and will not be returning for season three. Yes, that’s true! In a heartfelt note, Barbie said adieu to her character and the show on her Instagram handle.
She wrote, “after four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye.” Accompanying the note was a special “fan art” by her co-star Hunter Schafer, that described one of her most important scenes from the show. Barbie refrained from sharing any further details or reasons behind her sudden exit. Amongst the most amazing ensemble of the show, Kat’s role brought a new dimension to the usual “fat girl best friend” stereotype. Finding her way through her insecurities, Kat’s massive transformation infused a spirit of self-confidence amongst her fans. Besides being a great character, Kat’s iconic sartorial choices, helped the viewers have a closer and deeper look at her journey. Talking about which, how can we not mention our takeaway from her iconic character style? Take a look.
The Much-Talked-About Transition
Amongst the many characters from the show, Kat’s transformation made headlines and how. From a geeky girl to finding her fiery self, Kat’s closet displayed a massive shift. Which for many was a surprisingly interesting plot twist. From graphic tees, and cat-eye spectacles to diving deep into the grunge-cum-glam aesthetic, her distinct style was fuelled by corset belts and chokers. Her journey with her inner being was always put on display through her outfits.

Emotional Glam Makeup
Much like her fellow Euphoria girls like Maddy, Lexi and Cassie, Kat’s eye makeup was a window to her emotional self. Ranging from episodes that decorate the screen with her distress to her brief moments of romance with Ethan, Kat’s eyes said it all. Curated by the show’s famous make-up artist–Doniella Davy, Kat’s face turned brighter as her confidence rose. From her neon-bordered eyes, that spoke about her growing urge to be unapproachable to her heart-themed liner for a special dinner date with Ethan and his parents, Kat’s eye looks narrated a story.

All Hearts
Besides her pink heart eyes, Kat’s closet too built a bond with the love symbol, during her time with Ethan. From her love dress from O Mighty, and Heart skirt from Shein to the incorporation of more feminine, floral prints, puffed sleeves and lace-up silhouettes, we spotted all things lovely in her closet.

The Grunge Glam
An important aspect of Kat’s closet was the usage of grunge and punk-inspired aesthetics. Followed by her transformation, stronger silhouettes, structured fabric and buckled up accessory options became her best friends. Then be it a range of leather bustiers, underboob corsets, grunge-love chokers, or dark hues, Kat’s style changed like her turbulent character graph in the show.

A Twist In Season 2
As compared to her applaudable sartorial shift, Kat’s character and style was often presented in parts that refused to leave an impact on the viewers. From an edgier look to fitting the soft-glam girl box, Kat’s aesthetic couldn’t find a space for itself. And as the season concluded, we even witnessed her re-connecting with best friend Maddy, as they were often spotted sharing a similar aesthetic.
