BAFTAs 2022 Red Carpet Witnessed A Deep Love For Velvet, Green And Glitter

The 75th EE British Academy Film Awards or BAFTAs witnessed celebrities from Lady Gaga, Florence Pugh to Emma Watson, who walked the red carpet in their sartorial best. After many rounds of digital award shows, BAFTAs took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall and announced –Dune, Cruella, West Side Story, actors Joanna Scanlan, Will Smith and more as winners. And talking about the star-lit red carpet, celebrities indeed walked in their stylish best. Take a look:

Lady Gaga

Shining equally at BAFTAs and Critics Choice Awards, Lady Gaga bid her favourite label Gucci adieu and opted for a custom Ralph Lauren emerald gown for the awards night. A stunning, slim-fitting, pleated silk silhouette, followed by a long trail, the House Of Gucci star complimented her look with emerald encrusted diamond neckpiece, earrings by Tiffany & Co and a fur mini bag in the shade black, that had me envious of her bag collection. With hair styled into the classic 90s curls, Lady Gaga went easy on her make-up and opted for a minimal look.

Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell made a rather rare appearance at the BAFTAs in velvet, black Burberry number. Featuring a square neckline, and a ruffled cape, Naomi punctuated the all-black look with green and silver jewellery by Fawaz Gruosi and let her long black locks loose. What a star!

Ariana De Bose

Obsessing over sun-lit yellow, the West Side Story actress, came dressed in a custom yellow hiked-hem chiffon gown, by designer Oscar de la Renta. Headlined by a beaded gardenia appliqué in the shade red, the draped number, with a thigh-high slit was paired diamond stud earrings. Loved the colour, Ariana!!

Emma Watson

Another actress who turned muse to designer Oscar de la Renta was Emma Watson. Featuring a plunging neckline, multi-frill tulle skirt, the velvet black and white number, was paired with silver chandelier earrings and embellished spiral heels in black. Experimenting with her hair, Emma secured her long locks with multiple hairpins. She further added a mini white clutch to her ensemble, and we feel it just sealed the look perfectly. What say?

Simone Ashley

The Bridgerton star arrived on the red carpet in a traffic-stopping Valentino ensemble and well we’d say nothing more than–’Perfect.’ Pulled out from the recent runway showcase of Valentino’s Pink PP Collection, the gorgeous pink attire, incorporated a sheer bodice, pink, wide-legged pants, a bralette in the same shade, followed by a huge cape. Simone additionally punctuated the all-pink look with diamond string earrings, and let her long curls loose for the big night.

Riz Ahmed

The Sound Of Metal actor pulled off his stylish best in a four-colour play ensemble. Dripping Gucci, from head to toe, Riz appeared in a baby blue blazer, teamed with brown pants, a cream shirt, and a black vest. Can we applaud Riz’s winning colour-play style?

Daniel Kaluuya

Actor Daniel Kaluuya, fur laden ensemble for BAFTAs 2022, indicated the new era of menswear is here to stay. Wearing Prada’s boxy, oversized blue overcoat, paired with a white turtle neck and black pants, what stole the spotlight was the deep blue fur embellishment on his coat arms and hemlines. He further accessorised the edgy-blue look with diamond finger rings and glossy black shoes.

Florence Pugh

The Black Widow star, and my favourite of all– Florence Pugh arrived in a little black dress, but with a twist. Pulled out from the shelves of designer Carolina Herrera’s designer label, Florence’s BAFTAs-ready attire featured a pale pink, pleated trail. Wearing all the glitter possible on her hair and neck, Florence accessorised her look with dainty chandelier silver earrings, a two-tier choker, septum ring, and hair tinsels. Barbie-doll but make it edgy, right Ms Pugh?

Rachel Zegler

Channelling a princess-esqué aesthetic at both BAFTAs and Critics Choice Awards 2022, the West Side Story star arrived in an off-shoulder blue-silk gown by Vivienne Westwood. The gorgeous blue number was paired with dainty silver jewellery and simple, side-parted hair.

Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter

The gorgeous couple arrived in a combination of black and gold for the big night. Wearing Dior Couture, metallic gold gown, Sophie was spotted posing with partner Benedict who distanced himself from any sort of experiments and relied on his signature black and white tuxedo for the special night.

Rebecca Hall

Actress Rebecca Hall turned muse to Dior in a sheer-grey attire. Layered over a bralette in the same shade, Rebecca’s Dior dress was replete with ivory, geometric patterns with a sequin-laden collar, sealing the look. Accessorising the grey-hued number, Rebecca chose to wear diamond drop earrings and carried an ivory mini-clutch to match the embroidery.

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian arrived in the usual black pant suit, but his shirt sure had a mood of its own. Featuring embellished collars, actor Sebastian Stan’s ensemble at BAFTAs left us surprised

Daisy Edgar-Jones

The Normal People actress turned a Gucci girl for the special evening. Wearing the label’s glitter-tassel dress in the hues of sea-green and blue, Daisy maintained a soft-glam with her hair curls sealed into a half-ponytail, and accessories including diamond stud earrings. Also, the kajal-laden eyes complemented the ensemble.

Bimini Bon-Boulash

British drag queen, Bimini Bon-Boulash’s love affair with the colour white was loud and visibly impressive on the red carpet. Wearing a stunning white gown, with tonal-floral embroidery gracing the silhouette, Bimini accentuated the white attire with blue hand gloves and white lace-up heels. What a stunning pick!

Kodi Smit-McPhee

The Power of the Dog, star was well-suited up for BAFTAs 2022. Wearing a piece from Louis Vuitton Men’s F/W 2022 collection, Kodi’s outfit for the night incorporated an oversized pant-suit, in the shade blue, that he layered over a white-collar shirt and statement sneakers in the same shade.
