Talking about designer Anju Modi, who is known for her romantic and regal colour play, matched with bridal wear. The designer opened the doors to her new collection, titled–The Road Less Travelled. From modern-day drapes, neutral hues, and intricate pitta work to dazzling blouses, Anju Modi presented a conversation with her travel journeys so far. It loans its inspiration from mountains, rivers and the valleys that often accompany her on a vacation. Amidst a refreshing range of shades, the designer goes back to her signature velvet jackets, sufi-angrakhas for men, with an interesting addition of accessories such as belts.

Walking for the designer was actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who fits the regal palette like a hand in a glove. Bringing her charm to the big stage, Aditi was dressed in an interesting combination of mustard yellow and sap green, as she turned the showstopper for the showcase. Similar to the designer’s overall aesthetic for the latest collection, Aditi’s skirt cam decorated with golden motifs, intertwined with a hint of red thread work. A similar pattern was then followed by the mono-sleeved blouse. The dupatta in this case, brought an interesting colour play to break the monotony. The subtle royalty was all that we rooted for.

Besides Anju Modi, another showcase that had the audience dancing on their chairs, was by designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The designer duo, brought their classic glamour to build a closet for the global Indian. Titled–Fibonacci, (Italian mathematician, also known as Leonardo Bonacci), the range of designs spoke in length about the dramatic fabric placed in a pattern as defined by Fibonacci’s irrational numbers. The texture play was a significant aspect of the collection, accompanied by detailed embroidery, all dipped in the glimmer of jewel tones.

Turning muse for their designs, actress Malaika Arora Khan paraded on the ramp in a deep blue attire. The ethereal gown on Malaika, featured a plunging neckline, a thigh-high slit, and fabric that was married with intricate handwork and sequin overlay. Malaika matched the look with hair styled into dramatic curls in the front, and a Safire pendant chain making it the only piece of jewellery.
