From Adele To Ed Sheeran, Brit Awards 2022 Red Carpet Was All About Ballads And Black

Brit Awards 2022 turned out to be a big night for the world of music and indeed a bigger one for musician Adele, who bagged not just one but three out of four main honours. The new artist of the year also performed her song “I Drink Wine,” for the audience. Gracing the show amongst the guest list were Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, Anne-Marie, Ashley Roberts. The 2022 ceremony also included four new awards for different genres, decided by public vote. Dua Lipa was named pop/R’n’B act, the prize for alternative/rock went to Sam Fender and Becky Hill was named best dance act. Talking about the great display of style on the red carpet, the invitees showcased their love for the colour black with cut-outs being the highlight in most ensembles. Take a look:

Adele

The ‘Artist Of The Year’ winner brought her classic off-shoulder style for the big night. Adele wore a stunning custom black, silk velvet dress by Giorgio Armani, featuring a tulle neckline. She further teamed the gown with dainty diamond earrings, her signature side-parted curls and winged eyeliner. And we said, ‘Oh My God’ what a stunner.

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie’s ensemble for the night literally has my heart. The ‘2002’ singer looked edgy in a cut-away bralette, leather jacket with padded shoulders and a pair of straight-fit pants in the same shade. She further completed the Philosophy spring-summer 2022 design with a high-ponytail, her signature multi-hoop gold earrings and a dramatic winged eyeliner.

Ashley Roberts

Singer, dancer and Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts appeared in 2022’s most favourite trend– extreme cut-outs and stole the show. Covered up in a pair of leather hand gloves, Ashley walked the star-studded carpet in the label Monot’s AW ’21 design and completed the look with charcoal heels, fuller lashes, simple blow-dried hair and truckloads of pink shimmer, lip gloss.

Maya Jama

Only if the show-stopper outfit of the night was a category at BRITs, Maya Jama would’ve won that for sure. The television presenter paid homage to American singer Cher’s mohawk dress by Bob Mackie that she wore to the 1986 Oscars. The Monot ensemble featured a zig-zag hem crop top, cut-out skirt, a black faux-fur coverup and stunning silver, embellished heels. She further styled the look with a diamond armlet, chandelier earrings and a dramatic winged eye-liner. Wow, Maya!

Olivia Rodrigo

The ‘Deja Vu’ singer kept her distance from the shade of the night– black and looked like a star girl in a silver asymmetrical dress, from designer Alexandre Vauthier’s Spring 2022 Couture. Featuring a cowl neckline and chain straps, she accessorised the attire with silver long tassel drop earrings with hair styled into soft curls.

Ed Sheeran

Never seen nobody look this great in an electric blue suit. Shifting his choice of clothing from casual t-shirts, jackets to a gorgeous velvet suit, Ed Sheeran brought some colour-play to the line-up of black at the big night. He pulled off designer label Etro’s blue velvet pant-suit with a white shirt and a black tie and I must say it looked beyond ‘Perfect.’

Hannah Waddingham

Another look in black, actress Hannah Waddingham arrived for the big night in a glimmering Dolce And Gabbana sequinned dress. The full-sleeved sparkling attire also featured a slim-fitting corset in the same shade. She further completed the look with hair styled in a beehive and a pair of diamond earrings for accessories.

Johnny McDaid & Courteney Cox

Making a rather rare public appearance, Courteney Cox walked the red carpet with beau Johnny McDaid, as the two twinned in black. While our infamous Monica wore a satin black blouse with a long velvet skirt, Johnny chose to wear a simple all-black outfit and opted out of the ‘OTT dress-up for the red carpet’ drill.

Fleur East

One of my favourite looks from the night, singer-songwriter Fleur East came dressed as a Gucci girl in the label’s collaborative piece with Balenciaga. Fleur walked the red carpet in an embellished-silver monogram blazer dress, printed sheer stockings and a pair of white tie-up heels. She further finished off the look with hoop earrings and went easy on her hair, make-up.
