As a surprise for all of us celebrating the day of love this February, Netlfix has decided to bring this year’s most-anticipated rom-com Your Place Or Mine, straight to our screens. Starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, this cute movie date with Netflix is planned by the writers of 27 Dresses, and The Devil Wears, which is the biggest reason behind our excitement.

As per the trailer dropped by Netflix, we see Reese Witherspoon’s character a single mother–Debbie and her best friend–Peter, played by Ashton Kutcher’s bond unfold in the first half of the almost three-minute-long trailer. The 20-year-long friendship that previously started on an interesting note, takes a turn, which no one anticipated. Following the same trope from The Holiday, the two decide to exchange lives and homes. Bearing the burden of a single mother, Debbie is advised by Peter to allow him to help, as he appoints himself to take care of her child–Zack.

In the scenes following it, the trailer introduces us to Debbie’s new partner, who she meets at a bar, and maybe has fallen for. As Debbie figures out her romance with the handsome new man (played by the blue-eyed–Jesse Williams) in her life, what Peter realises are his blooming yet hidden feelings for our main girl, and yes it’s again friendship turned into trouble. What will unfold further is for us to watch.

Reese, who also wore the hat of an executive producer for this project, also seems to be sending a sweet message to single moms, who are always dabbling between their personal lives and raising a child. What we love about the trailer is how it takes cues from the classics to set the tried and tested premise of single best friends, but adds twists with the ‘swapping lives’ theme, and well adding a hot dude between them, as they stand on the verge of spilling out their feelings. It is also an ode to every bond in our lives, one that a mother shares with her child, love shared between best friends, and of course the special someone.

“Will Debbie and Peter accept their love for each other?” “Will Debbie think it’s too late,” or will “Peter ever tell Debbie about his feelings,” “Will Debbie will get over the hot guy,” or “Will they all end up having a three-some?” These questions are haunting me, so Netflix jaldi batao who is the kabaab mein haddi?”

Directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, actors like–Jesse Williams, Wesley Kimmel, and Zoë Chao play pivotal roles in the story. The film is slated to hit our screens on February 10, 2022.
