‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ Clocks 10 Years: Twitter User Points Out This Beautiful Detail From Ayan Mukerji Film!

When Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani was released in 2013, it was like a whole generation took a rebirth. The boys were reciting Ranbir Kapoor AKA Bunny’s lines like they were actually putting in the effort to do something in life whereas the girls wanted to be Deepika Padukone AKA the chashmish Naina who would have the glow up of their lies, and Bunny would fall in love with them! On the occasion of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani completing 10 years today, I came across a Twitter thread that talks about how contrasting is Bunny’s “Main udna chahta hoon” dialogue to the lyrics of Kabira.

This Twitter user whose Twitter handle is @apparitionnow drew comparisons between Bunny’s popular dialogue from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and the lyrics of the song Kabir from the film. She wrote that she loves how the dialogue “Mai udna chahta hu, daudna chahta hu” is stark opposite in comparison to Kabira’s lyrics “Ban liya apna paigambar, tar liya tu saath samandar”.

She further wrote that this summarises the film and means that one cannot just live life on the basis of ambition. The Twitter user added that you need time with your loved ones, friendships and companionship as well.

Many Twitter users agreed with this, and went on to mention other similar things from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Like one of them wrote how the last dialogue in the film is about Bunny wanting to do the same things but with Naina. Another quoted Naina’s iconic dialogue on how you will never be able to accommodate everything in your life.

Ayan Mukerji gave the audience a film to talk about for generations to come with YJHD. I don’t think there ever will be an individual who when they grow old will not recommend their children and grandchildren (IF they have any) this film. Also, this film clocking 10 years proves we are getting old.
