In his recent interaction with the media, Haq’s director, Supran Verma, spoke about how the intensive research went down for the said project. He also stated that Yami Gautam, who played Shazia Bano’s character in the film, studied the Holy Quran to prepare for her role. Verma mentioned, “We spent almost a year and a half understanding Islamic law.” He also mentioned that their research was exhaustive, as we live in an age of misinformation. He added that everyone has information, but one doesn’t know whether it’s right or wrong. In that space, he wanted Haq to be the voice of reason.
