With ‘Ms Marvel’ Episode 6 Incoming, All You Need To Know Before The Finale

The very first season of Ms Marvel is about to come to an end today. Much like Moon Knight and other MCU series, Ms. Marvel’s first season has a total of six episodes. This news leaves a bittersweet taste in my mouth because I’m incredibly excited to see what happens next. But, of course, I’m also very sad about the fact that the season is ending, and there’s so much more I want to discover about Kamala Khan and her family. While we wait for the final episode, and that little note at the end that might indicate that Ms. Marvel will return, let’s look back and recap whatever we’ve seen in the series so far, to make sure that the last episode, sits over perfectly.

A Quick Peek Into Ms Marvel’s Story, So Far

Kamala Khan is Ms Marvel but we still don’t know how she gets that name. Night Light has to go, right? She has always been into the Avengers and Captain Marvel. She worships Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and decides to dress up like her for AvengerCon (which she sneaked into with Bruno, remember?) and if you ask me, she deserved to win the costume contest too. But, we never really get to hear more on the contest as the moment she pops on her ‘own twist’ i.e. a bangle that her Nani had sent in a box, her eyes begin to glow as her body tingles with a new feeling.

We can see her charged up with newfound powers which, unfortunately, she can’t seem to control yet. So, all hell breaks loose when she publicly displays them on the stage and saves a girl from her school. Alas, now she’s got Agents Cleary and Deever from Damage Control behind her. But, Her best friend, Bruno, trains her to discover her powers and learn how to control them. He makes her realise that this is great because her dream, has just come true.

Kamala is also seen calling her Nani who informs her that the bangle belonged to her great grandmother, Aisha but, she cannot tell her a whole lot, about it because, her mother wouldn’t like it. The following day, her father tells a story at the table where she learns that Aisha had disappeared and we hear all about how her Nani had been lost by boarding the train to Pakistan, during the partition but, she was brought back to her father by following a magical path of stars.

Then, we meet the incredibly dashing, Kamran. Kamala’s world begins to transform the minute she meets Kamran at the party and she ends up having a crush on him (Of course, Bruno hates their connection! We are Team Bruno here, undoubtedly). Kamran takes her out on a driving lesson as she really needs help in that area and we can see the fact that they complement each other really well.

Cut forward, it’s Eid and everyone’s gathering at the mosque for a celebration. This is where Kamala tries to find out more about Aisha, her great-grandmother and people tell her about how negative she was, she hears a lot of rumours about Aisha but eventually, loses interest the minute she realises that a little boy was in danger. She reaches there to save him and makes her second, very public, appearance.

Following this, Agents Cleary and Deever from the Damage Control headquarters reach there and well, she is saved by a car that is driven by no other than Kamran and in the backseat, we meet his mother, Najma. She takes Kamala home and tells her all about Aisha and how she didn’t really belong to this world. There is a thinly veiled world on the other side and they are both separated by Noor. Aish was trying hard to get them all home and that’s why they were looking for this bangle to reach back. Then, she tells her that Aisha vanished and they remained stuck here. She promises the Clandestines (Djinns, yep! She is a Djinn too by the way) that she will help them get back home.

The following day, the agents make their way into the mosque where they’re shamed for being insensitive to customs and asked to leave.

Following this, Kamala realises the real dangers of doing this as Bruno researches the background and how the door opening would create a big boom and destroy a lot of things. She tells Kamran she won’t help them. But alas, Najma is impatient and wants this done now, she and the other Clandestines unfortunately, reach the venue of Kamala’s brother’s long-awaited wedding, which is annoying because the sangeet was killer! Kamran reaches just in time to help Kamala evacuate her family. A major fight ensues between them and Najma tries to take off the band when a huge train is seen heading their way. This powerful eruption leads to the Agents reaching there and arresting all the Clandestines including Kamran (who was fighting to save Kamala and the others!)

This is when her Nani calls up, informing Kamala that she saw the train too and that Kamala needs to come to Pakistan to solve the rest of this puzzle. The distance between Kamala and her worrisome mother keeps increasing, but hey, they get on the plane together to go see her Nani. Kamala’s Nani informs her of the past and shows her pictures of her mother and father. She confirms Najma’s story of Kamala being a Djinn and tells her to believe in herself to find the right path.

In Pakistan, Kamala meets the Red Daggers, goes to their headquarters, and meets Waleed, their leader. Waleed tells Kamala more about Aisha and the Noor that protects their world. He also informs her about the real plan of the Clandestines, to remove this veil and destroy this world by unleashing theirs. Alas, Najma and her team free themselves from the Damage Control, leaving Kamran behind. They drop into the headquarters, looking for Kamala and she has to away while Waleed tries to protect her, but….

Following this, everyone clashes in a market where Najma tries to take off the bracelet again and sends Kamala back into the past, at the time of the Partition. We get to witness the magic of love as Aisha meets Hasan and their love gives birth to Sana (Aisha’s Nani). Unfortunately, Najma reaches her and warns her to take them back. A scared Aisha requests Hasan to cross the border with their daughter, no matter what, while revealing the truth about her past. Unfortunately, a ruthless Najma stabs Aisha and promises her that they’ll get back and find that bangle (which Aisha had not given to her Daughter, Sana).

Turns out, that Kamala was called into the past by Aisha for help. She hands Kamala a picture and asks her to save and help Sana before dying. This is when we realise that the stars Kamala’s Nani talked about were Kamala’s doing. She goes back to save her own Nani (I cried here, I swear!). She then comes back to the present and the Noor starts opening a gate to the other world, which actually turns one of the Clandestines to ash. Najma then tries to cross over but Kamala appeals to the mother inside her. She asks her to stop and think about Kamran. This is when a change of mind ends up with her sacrificing herself while taking Kamran’s name, to close the door again.

Kamala’s mother and Nani witness this and it brings the family closer than ever. Oh, and, Kamran has powers now. But hey, what do you think will happen next?  Will we finally see the reason behind her chosen name? Will Bruno and Kamran reach Kamala in time to save themselves from the agents? Will the agents find her?

Ugh! So many questions that I wish are cleared out today. Are you as excited as I am? Let’s wait and watch!
