There is a lot of anticipation, excitement and doubts surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey and Lara Dutta among others. The film’s trailer was released recently, and mixed reactions have been floating on the internet. There is a lot of debate around Ranbir Kapoor’s casting as Lord Ram, and actor Dipika Chikhlia has now backed this casting, calling RK very lucky. Read on.
Dipika Chikhlia On Ranbir Kapoor As Ram
After recently sharing her opinions on Sai Pallavi as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, Dipika Chikhlia has shared her thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor as Ram. In a podcast with Hindi Rush, the veteran actor was asked about the reactions to the casting and the opinion that questioned RK’s casting, as he had played a character like Animal before. To this, Dipika Chikhlia gave a thoughtful answer and said that Ranbir Kapoor was an actor and nobody had come down from above. The actor further opined that an actor should be able to get to play varied roles on the screen, and added that if Ranbir Kapoor could play a barfi and then Animal, then he could also play Ram in Ramayana. Dipika Chikhlia also called Ranbir Kapoor lucky for getting these opportunities as an actor.
The veteran actor who had played Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana had earlier also addressed the casting of Sai Pallavi as Sita. While she praised the actor’s talents and strong on-screen presence, she questioned if curly hair was the right requirement for the casting of Maa Sita.
The Ramayana trailer was also showcased at the Comic-Con in San Diego. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra were present for the same.
