About Vedang Raina’s Character In Main Vaapas Aaunga
One detail that stayed with fans after Main Vaapas Aaunga was Ishar’s nickname “Kinnu.” This sweet term makes Jiya cheekily ask him if he is an orange, but this might be a reference to the region famous in the world for its oranges. Main Vaapas Aaunga is set in the city of Sargodha, which is located in Punjab, Pakistan, today. Sargodha region is known for being “the city of Oranges” and is also world famous for having some of the finest kinnow. The area’s fertile soil and climate have made it one of the largest kinnow-producing regions in the world.
For the unversed, Sargoda oranges have been travelling across countries for years and are the city’s claim to fame. This is where Raina’s character’s nickname “Kinnu” comes from, as he is a young boy living in Sargodha. He is called Kinnu by his loved ones, after which his girlfriend compares him to an orange. This nickname is essentially important since it tells the audience how much Ishar is loved by the people around him. The warmth and meaning take a beautiful turn. After the partition, ordinary lives were torn and this name represents a happier time, when life was about families, love, and friendships.
It is important to note that this is just a theory and that the makers have not confirmed anything as of now. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know.
