Another week and another set of releases. But this week marks something special. Yes, this week indicates that we’re officially entering the second half of December i.e. the last month of the year 2022. Are you all excited to be ending the year with a bang, this time? This week is bringing some very banging releases that you must check out. From fabulous documentaries like Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator, Don’t Pick Up The Phone and Harry & Meghan Volume 2 to more fun and fabulous holiday releases like I Believe In Santa, A Storm For Christmas, Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery and various others. So, the forecast is clear. It’s totally going to be a release-heavy week.

What To Watch This Week Of December 12 To December 18

1. The Expanse Season 5 – Prime Video

This interesting series is set hundreds of years in the future. Everything changes from what humanity is used to after we colonised the solar system. Season 5 of this series starts with multitudes of humans leaving the solar system to search for new homes and vast fortunes on the earth-like worlds beyond the alien Ring. but the past of heavy exploitation comes back to haunt them. Will our characters succeed? Watch this new season on Prime Video, from December 16 onwards.

2. The Grand Tour Presents: A Massive Hunt – Prime Video 

Our boys are back on our screens after a very long time. The trio of Richard, James and Jeremy arrive on Réunion island, an exotic island in the Indian Ocean. Here begins the race on the world’s most expensive piece of tarmac, but with a twist in the plot, a challenge propels them into Madagascar, where they have to tackle the world’s toughest road. This film is all set to premiere on Prime Video on December 18.

3. My Next Guest with David Letterman and Volodymyr Zelenskyy – Netflix  

This popular and well-known four-time Emmy Award-nominated Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman is going to be featuring a very special guest this time. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the next guest in a standalone special. This episode will be filled with stirring, personal and in-depth conversation, with this recently named TIME’s person of the year. Watch this on Netflix, from December 12 onwards.

4. Glitter – Netflix

Set in 1976 in Sopot, Poland, this Polish TV drama shows three determined women. Who are navigating their lives through various social and political changes as they strive to find independence, financial freedom and love? This show deals with the realities of this world, watch this intriguing series on Netflix from December 14 onwards.

5. Don’t Pick Up The Phone – Netflix 

Netflix is back again with a new documentary for all its true crime lovers. This gripping new Netflix documentary called Don’t Pick Up the Phone profiles the strip search phone scam calls that happened across the US in the early 2000s. In this scam, multiple fast-food restaurants received a call from a mysterious person claiming to be a police officer or other authority figure claiming that a manager needs to strip search some female employee who was being accused of a crime. But who was this strip search caller and what happened that ultimately led to an arrest? Watch this on Netflix, from December 14 onwards.

6. I Believe In Santa – Netflix 

This cute rom-com is centred around a woman named Lisa. She thinks she’s finally met the man of her dreams, Tom, but later gets to know that Tom, whom she has been dating for 5 months loves her least favourite holiday. On top of that, she finds out he still believes in Santa Claus. Is it time for Lisa to walk away or maybe warm up to Christmas? Catch this cute story on Netflix on December 14.

7. Harry & Meghan Volume 2 – Netflix 

The new volume of this riveting series will soon be here. The dominating narrative of the final 3 episodes is going to be all about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shocking decision to step back from their senior royal roles and move their homes as well as countries. We will get some deep insights into their controversial exit. Find out what transpired on Netflix, from December 15 onwards.

8. Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery – Netflix

This’ Murderville’ spin-off is back to solve a critical case, with Senior Detective Terry Seattle along with his two celebrity guest stars, Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph. Our detective is on a mission to figure out who killed Santa Claus. But the catch is that Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph aren’t being given any script. It’s all about improvisation. 9. A Storm For Christmas – Netflix 

A group of varied people are trapped together at an airport due to extreme weather on Christmas eve, some to welcome their loved ones, some to fly home to their families and others, who dislike the holiday. Their destinies collide forcing them to spend the final hours leading up to Christmas together. Watch this interesting story on Netflix, from December 16 onwards.

10. Beast of Bangalore: Indian Predator – Netflix

 The fourth instalment of ‘Indian Predators’, a series of true-crime documentaries is here. It is based on the Umesh Reddy case. Reddy, a former police officer, operated mainly in the ’90s. In 2009, he was caught and sent for conviction. What motivated a former police officer to turn into a murderer? Watch it on Netflix, from December 16 onwards.

11. Paradise PD Season 4 – Netflix 

This popular adult animated series is about the chaotic day-to-day activities of small-town law enforcement. Displays the antics of the incompetent Paradise Police Department which are likely to continue in Season 4. Watch this comic series on Netflix, from December 16 onwards.

12. National Treasure: Edge of History – Disney+ Hotstar 

It is an American action-adventure television series about Jess, a brilliant and resourceful dreamer. She searches for answers about her family and embarks on an adventure of a lifetime. She uncovers the truth about the past and saves a lost Pan-American treasure. Catch this amazing story on Disney+ Hotstar, from December 14 onwards.

13. Nanny – Prime Video  

This is a psychological horror fable of displacement. Aisha, a woman who recently emigrated from Senegal, is hired as a Nanny to care for the daughter of an affluent couple living in New York City. But Aisha is continually haunted by the absence of the young son she left behind, Aisha hopes her new job will afford her the chance to bring him to the U.S., but she isn’t able to settle down and live her American dream. 14. U Turn 2 – Theatres 

U Turn 2 is an upcoming Kannada movie, the second edition of this horror movie series. It revolves around a pizza boy and two of his friends and one girlfriend who sticks with him the entire time, fighting to survive the devil. Get ready to get goosebumps watching this movie in your nearby theatres, from December 16 onwards.

15. The Good Maharaja – Theatres 

It is an upcoming IndoPolish war epic film. Starring Sanjay Dutt in the titular role of Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja, the Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar and Dhruv Verma in the lead role. It is based on the true life events of the Maharaja of Jamnagar who saved the lives of 1000 Polish kids during world war II. It is a love story woven with a lot of action and drama. Watch this amazing movie in theatres, from December 17 onwards.

16. Govinda Naam Mera – Disney+ Hotstar

This upcoming movie starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar follows the story of a married man, Govinda and his wife, Gauri who are in an unhappy marriage. Will they escape this relationship to be with their own significant others? Watch this movie on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16 to find out.

17. Avatar: The Way of Water – Theatres

A beautiful family has been created by the fabulous and beloved couple Jake Sully and Ney’tiri but, their family is at major risk when an ancient threat resurfaces.
