Vivek Agnihotri Has Entered Besharam Rang Chat, Calls It “Provocative”
This is so stupid!
This past week, we did not hear any more actors or political leaders supporting or hating Pathaan’s ‘Besharam Rang’ song. And this led me to believe that finally, this rangeeli controversy was coming to a close. But on December 28, we get a taunt from a filmmaker that sparks up this whole thing again. This time, director Vivek Agnihotri has taken a dig at Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, and the makers of Pathaan by resharing a post that slammed the said film and the song.

Taking to Twitter, he reshared a tweet where a young girl was talking about how Pathaan and its song ‘Besharam Rang’ are ‘exploiting’ the daughters of the country. He shared the tweet by writing a taunting caption that read, “WARNING: #PnV video against Bollywood. Don’t watch it if you are a Secular.”

In the video that The Kashmir Files director reshared, a little girl is talking about how the ‘Besharam Rang’ song does not respect women’s bodies and it is just a song that has bad lyrics and ‘nude’ shots. To add a dramatic effect to the whole video, the little girl is shown to be crying and having bruises on her face. She further says in the video that the filmmakers ‘instigate’ criminals with such content and it is the daughters of the nation that have to pay a price for it.
The ‘Besharam Rang’ song is sung by Shilpa Rao and the musical duo, Vishal & Sheykhar. The song was dragged into controversy because of the colour of Deepika Padukone’s bikini. Yes, it was obviously saffron! So, saffron outfits in the country have united to boycott the film and the song because it hurts the religious sentiments of a particular group.

But this controversy did not deter the makers of Pathaan from launching the second song, ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’, from the film, which is a hit! The film will hit theatres on January 25, 2023.
