Uorfi Javed: “Driver Stole Half Of My Luggage, Yet Uber Unwilling To Compensate”
What a horrible experience she has had!
Travelling via a private mode of transport like cabs, taxis and auto rickshaws has become harrowing for women. While not all female passengers face safety issues, the ones who do, their incidents remain etched in your minds forever. On February 22, Uorfi Javed shared a bad experience she had while travelling via Uber cabs. Taking to her Instagram story to narrate the entire incident, Uorfi informed that Uber is not safe for women as the driver of her cab fled with her luggage and did not pay any heed to her requests to have her stuff returned. In the recent update she shared, Uorfi wrote that the Uber driver opened her bag and stole some of her things as well.

Uorfi Javed had a pathetic experience travelling via Uber. In a video shared on Instagram, she informed that the had booked an Uber cab for six hours. She said that in the meantime they had taken a halt, the driver fled with her luggage and all the things she had kept in the cab. She also said that she repeatedly kept calling the driver to return her stuff but he did not respond. After some time, when she asked her male friend to talk to the driver, he took the matter seriously and turned up drunk to return her luggage.
In an update to the theft, Uorfi Javed informed that when she opened her bag to see, she found half of her things were missing. She also said that Uber services could not offer any more help than being apologetic about this issue. Furthermore, Uorfi added that the driver had drunk called her 16 times and abused her as well.
In a following Instagram story, Uorfi Javed responded to the DMs she must be getting about buying a car. She said that she cannot keep buying a vehicle in every city she travels to, and also has one in Delhi.

Uber needs to take strict action against such reckless drivers. If no help s offered despite repeated complaints, it proves that Uber does not value its customer’s safety. We’re sorry this happened to you, Uorfi.
