Trisha Krishnan As Princess Kundavai, A Woman of Courage’ In ‘Ponniyin Selvan–I’ Looks Stunning!
I am a huge fan of period dramas and love films based on this genre. There is something enchanting about the larger-than-life sets, the costume, dialogues and the recreation of that era on the silver screen. Well, if you, too, believe the same and are waiting for a new period drama film to release, I have good news for you. The upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan AKA PS-I which is helmed by Mani Ratnam is all set to release this year. And the makers of the film are releasing the first look of the characters one by one which is keeping the fans waiting in anticipation. On July 7, a new character was revealed which was none other than Trisha Krishnan!
Lyca Productions shared the first look of Trisha’s character and introduced her as Princess Kundavai. she is described a ‘woman of courage’ in this world of men. She looked regal in the poster draped in an orange saree with a broad green border. She was laden with ornaments beginning right from her head.
Trisha sported a huge bun atop her head which was accessorised with a huge maang teeka. She wore heavy jhumkas and two nose rings while her neck was adorned with a choker necklace and rani haar. The caption of the post read, “In a world of men, a woman of courage. Presenting Princess Kundavai!”

The film is based on the story of the Cholas who ruled in the south for a very long time. The plot is based on a book titled Ponniyin Selvan. The ensemble cast of the film includes Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu and Ashwin Kakumanu. And the film is set to hit theatres on September 30, 2022.
