Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Is A Royal Queen In New Pictures From ‘Ponniyin Selvan–I’
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is gearing up for her upcoming Mani Ratnam film–Ponniyin Selvan AKA PS-I and this latest update from the period drama has the internet pretty excited. Featuring actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Prakash Raj, amongst others, PS-I is the acclaimed director’s much-awaited film. Sharing a fresh image of actress Aishwarya Rai, the makers have unleashed a brand new look of her character in the film. According to a post by Lyca Productions, the makers introduced fans to the actress’ character–Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor.

The poster features Aishwarya Rai as the Queen of Pazhuvoor. Donning rust and gold, silk saree, stylised with a front pallu and a strapless silk blouse, Aishwarya’s never-before-seen avatar is impressive. For accessories, Aishwarya bathed in royal jewellery, incorporating stunning rani haar and neckpiece, accompanied by an arm band, with nose pierced on either sides and decorated with traditional–mookkuthi. The royal look was further topped off with Aishwarya’s long hair let loose, and forehead adorned with a red bindi.

Known for his larger-than-life and distinct film aesthetic, the film will also mark the fourth collaboration between Mani Ratnam and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, post Raavan, that released in 2010. The film, based on the Chola dynasty revolves around the Tamil novel titled–Ponniyin Selvan. Divided into a number of instalments, the first part of the film is slated to release on September 30, 2022, in languages Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, respectively.
