2. Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox won many awards and hearts when she played the role of Sophia Burset in the hit series Orange Is The New Black. The actress was the first transwoman to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy for acting and the first openly transgender person to feature on the cover of Time magazine, what an achievement! She’s also a transgender rights activist.

3. Shree Ghatak

Shree Ghatak is a social activist and the first transgender from Kolkata to feature in a Bollywood film titled Season’s Greetings in the year 2019. The actress is also the first transgender woman who legally tied the knot with her partner in Kolkata.
