‘Tooth Pari’ Teaser: Shantanu Maheshwari, Tanya Maniktala’s Vampire-Human Love Story Might Be Bloody Fun!

I am obsessed with vampires, thanks to the Twilight series, The Vampire Diaries and Bram Stoker’s classic, Dracula! Vampires and their obsession with human blood is proven to be true in these stories, making them scary and mysterious creatures. And of course, love stories between a human and a vampire have been explored in pop culture before. But a new Netflix series titled, Tooth Pari, is all set to present an inter-race love story that will tickle your ribs, and you root for your vampire and human’s pyaar. Starring Tanya Maniktala and Shantanu Maheshwari, the teaser and poster of Tooth Pari were dropped today, on World Oral Hygiene Day! Co-incidence? We think not!

The teaser starts with Tanya Maniktala AKA Rumi, the vampire, coming to see Shantanu Maheshwari AKA Dr Roy to get her broken tooth fixed. She gets her tooth broken while she was on a ‘hunt’ (you can guess who she was hunting). While the faint-hearted Dr Roy assures her that he will get her tooth fixed where it belongs, it is evident that it will not be a normal doctor-patient relationship for them.
When Dr Roy is checking her mouth, he accidentally nicks himself and a drop of his blood falls into Rumi’s mouth. From her expression, it looks like Rumi enjoyed Roy’s taste very much as flavours burst on her tongue from his blood. And Dr Roy has fainted, quite literally because seemingly, he cannot handle the sight of blood.

Shantanu Maheshwari looks absolutely adorable as Dr Roy! His bespectacled look brings his innocence perfectly on screen. While Tanya Maniktala as Rumi looks dangerously sweet! She means business but it looks like her plans to get her tooth fixed will end up getting her bit by the love bug. Or rather will she end up lovingly biting Dr Roy? We’ll only have to watch to find out!

Tooth Pari: When Love Bites also stars Tillotama Shome, Revathy, Saswata Chatterjee Sikander Kher, and Adil Hussain among others. The series is helmed by Pratim Dasgupta and will be available for streaming on Netflix on April 20, 2023.
