Swara Bhasker Opens Up About Twitter War With Kangana Ranaut, Says “Calling Me B-Grade Actress Was An Invitation To Talk”

If there is one actress who has had a tiff with almost every other Bollywood celebrity, then it has to be hands down Kangana Ranaut. And the reason behind this is that she often passes comments that are quite hurtful and honestly, at times unnecessary. For instance, last year, in 2021, the Dhaakad actress took a jab at Swara Bhasker and Taapsee Pannu on Twitter and called them ‘B-grade actresses’ because they did not agree with the existence of nepotism in the movie industry. She went on to say that both of the actresses made such statements because they wanted to get in Karan Johar’s good books so that he would cast them in his movies. To this, Swara Bhasker in what seemed to be a sarcastic tone called Kangana Ranaut’s ‘B-grade’ comment a ‘compliment’. And if you thought that this war was over, then maybe think again.

Recently, in the latest episode of The Bombay Journey, when Swara Bhasker was asked to comment on her Twitter war with Kangana Ranaut, the actress said that she really doesn’t have a problem with whatever the latter spoke as she was exercising her democratic right of freedom of speech. She said that since Kangana put out her opinion, she put out hers and that’s about it.

When asked why despite being co-stars in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns did Kangana Ranaut take a jab at her on Twitter, Swara Bhasker simply replied saying, “Kangana is a frank girl and I am also a frank girl. Toh humne karli baat (So, we talked). She put across her opinion and I did mine, so it’s all good.”

Swara Bhasker continued, “I just felt that Kangana (Ranaut) calling me and Taapsee (Pannu) B-grade actors was an invitation to talk. So, we should talk. Also, it’s a democracy and everyone has the right to speak. My only logic is, that if you are speaking, then I will also speak. I will also share my opinion. ”

For those unversed, this is not the first time that Swara Bhasker and Kangana Ranaut have been at loggerheads. Last year, the former had mocked the latter for starting a feminist movement with her movie Queen, to which the latter accused her of protecting movie mafias.
