Swara Bhasker Believes Bollywood Is Being “Discredited” And Labelled A “Dark Place” After SSR’s Death. It’s Harsh But True

I  am sure by now we have all got tired of the boycott trend that keeps happening on Twitter for every other movie. There is always a weird reason to boycott any movie. In the recent releases, Laal Singh Chaddha, Darlings, and Raksha Bandhan all of these movies, were caught up in the Boycott trend. Many actors are now openly speaking their minds on it. In a recent interview, Swara Bhasker also put forth her opinions on how people’s mindset towards Bollywood has changed in recent years. Talking about the same Swara also said that after actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Bollywood has been termed as a bad place, and since then its reputation has also been wrongly labelled. It is surely quite a straightforward comment that she chose to make but unfortunately it has some truth to it also.

Swara very honestly stated a few reasons as to why she thinks the movies are not performing well, compared to the south movies. Well, Swara Bhasker is not entirely wrong in her points here. The discussion and news around Bollywood being a toxic space did escalate after the death of SSR. People began to see it as a place of inequality too. Especially, the point where she mentions the economic crisis that many of the families have gone through, particularly after the Pandemic is to a lot extent right.  She also mentioned the rise of OTT platforms and the interests of the audience have also divided in that area, which is also very true.

Here’s a video when Swara Bhasker got candid for a Hauterfly interview in which she put forth her opinions on trolls.
