‘Suzume No Tojimari’ Trailer: Makoto Shinkai Is Here To Recreate The ‘Your Name’ Magic. We Got Goosebumps!
I would like to believe that like most people, there are multiple aspects to my personality. However, I will admit that one of my biggest personality traits is being an anime lover aka, a weeb. As someone who has always been completely obsessed with the art of any and all kinds, it wasn’t long before I found myself being attracted (and then addicted) to anime as an art form and media. And how could I not? It has brilliant art, beautifully composed music, engaging voice acting and storytelling. And that is how I stumbled upon Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name which altered my perception of animation (I am going to refrain from fangirling over how beautiful the animation is). However, I bring up Your Name because director Makoto Shinkai has just blessed us with the trailer of Suzume no Tojimari which I cannot stop watching!

Suzume no Tojimari (which translates to Suzume’s Locking-Up) is about a 17-year-old girl named Suzume. She comes across a mysterious young man who asks her for help to find a door. The story revolves around her helping this man find and close doors from which disasters keep coming into Japan. Also, in case you were unaware, Makoto Shinkai is also the man behind Weathering With You, 5 Centimeters Per Second, The Garden of Words and many more brilliantly animated movies with fantastical plots and breathtaking art. So yeah, my excitement about Suzume no Tojimari is well justified!

If the trailer (and his previous works are anything to go by) Makoto Shinkai has put a lot of attention into the animation in collaboration with CoMix Wave Films (just look at it!) Also, the music in the Suzume no Tojimari trailer is so soothing and somehow suits the high paced scenes in the background. Unfortunately, there are no further details regarding the voice actors or composers of Suzume no Tojimari. The way this trailer gave me chills, aaahhh!
Suzume no Tojimari is going to release on November 11, 2022.
