“This Hurts My Sentiment,” Says Sumona Chakravarthi On Hyderabad Rape Case Amidst Ranveer’s Photoshoot Controversy
Ranveer Singh’s nude photoshoot clearly should not be a concern at the moment. Our world is definitely witnessing way more serious incidents that need our attention and a collective voice to protest against them. Lately, there has been a lot of controversy around nude pictures of Ranveer, and even an FIR was filed against it. Many celebrities were asked for their opinions on the same. Actress Sumona Chakravarti too decided to show some real picture of what actually deserves our attention more than getting upset or hurt over Ranveer’s nude photos, while also making her stand clear on the whole issue.

On July 29, Friday Sumona Chakravarti took to her social media story to post a news article about a recent Hyderabad rape case in which the accused who was an MLA’s son was given bail by the High Court. Along with the post, Sumona expressed her anger over the news. She wrote that news such as this one is what “hurts her sentiments” and is more ‘outrageous”. She further went on to write that the NGOs should rather focus on talking more about news like that of the rape case rather than giving their focus to mere photoshoots. The news piece had also mentioned that the bail was given to the accused for a mere ₹ 5000. On this, Sumona Chakravarti expressed her disappointment and said such an offense should be considered a non-bailable one.
In a previous media interaction, Sumona Chakravarti was asked about her opinion on the news of the FIR against Ranveer Singh over “hurting the sentiments” of women. In response to this, the TV actress clearly stated she is a woman but the pictures did not hurt her sentiments. Now, a few days after the statement Sumona has clearly made her stand clear, in fact, has also highlighted what rather needs to be addressed in the country than a photo shoot.
