After Brad Pitt, Shehnaz Treasury Reveals She’s Been Diagnosed With Prosopagnosia, AKA Face Blindness. Here’s What It Means
Prosopagnosia is a face-blindness condition in which a person cannot remember the faces of the people. The disease can go to such an extent that a person even fails to recognise the faces of their families and friends too. A few days back Hollywood actor Brad Pitt during an interview revealed that he has been facing the issue of forgetting faces and many people do not believe it. On Tuesday, actress Shehnaz Treasury too made an announcement of being formally diagnosed with the same disease and also opened up about her symptoms.
Shenaz Treasury who was seen in the movie Ishq Vishk alongside Shahid Kapoor took to her social media account to inform her fans and followers about the news. She posted a few stories and opened up about what she faces. Shenaz wrote about the difficulty in remembering the faces of friends and families. She also highlighted that the failure to understand this problem also leads to many sufferers losing their friends and co-workers. Elaborating on the same she wrote about her experience of randomly forgetting people and being completely unknown to the fact as to why this happened until she discovered the disease. Shenaz also wrote that many people remember the faces through the hair, so if that too changes the sufferers completely fail to remember the person. She stated further that it is a “real disorder” and such patients are not intentionally behaving “aloof”. Shenaz made a request to all the people to understand and be kind to the sufferers of this disease.
A few days back, even the famous Hollywood actor Brad Pitt revealed about going through the same symptoms of the face-blindness disease, in an interview with GQ. He further stated that it also affects his reputation. Brad Pitt too talked about being perceived as aloof and in a negative light because he has a hard time remembering faces.
