‘Shehzada’s’ ‘Chedkhaniyan’: Love Arjit Singh, Nikhita Gandhi’s Vocals, But Not Kriti’s Blue Sharara
Arijit Singh won our hearts again!
After delivering a smashing hit at the box office with his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bollywood’s Shehzada AKA Kartik Aayan is all set to rain dhamaka in the theatres with his upcoming drama film Shehzada! The trailer of this Rohit Dhawan directorial was dropped last week, leaving the audience in anticipation of its release. Kriti Sanon is essaying the lead role in Shehzada, and she has brought her classic chemistry with Kartik Aaryan back to the silver screen! While the release of the film is still far away, the makers have dropped a song titled, ‘Chedkhaniyan’, for the audience to enjoy!

‘Chedkhaniyan’ is sung by Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi while its music is composed by Pritam. The choreography for this romantic dance number is set by Ganesh Acharya. From the lyrics and music, it looks like this song will be played at every wedding and engagement this year! While Nikhita Gandhi croons about a lover’s meethi meethi shaitaniyan, Kartik Aaryan starts showing off his dancing skills. And like in a typical Bollywood song, other background dancers start dancing perfectly in sync with him.
Arijit Singh ke vocals ki kya hi baat karein? He da best! He’s added a party vibe to the song which makes it a perfect shaadi season track! But Nikhita hardly sang any lines in the track. I heard her sing solo only at the start and she was barely heard in the chorus as well.
Looks like, after the massive hit of ‘Naatu Naatu’, choreographers think that adding complex footwork to Bollywood dances will make them successful! Arey nahi, yaar! We need easily recreate able hook steps. Not the kind that will make us entangle our legs and fall flat on our faces!
Wearing a dark blue kurta and pyjamas, Kartik is looking good in the song but I did a double take when I saw Kriti Sanon’s wardrobe. What in the ‘zhaga magha mala bagha‘ is she wearing? That light blue sequined sharara is not suiting her at all!

What I liked about the song was the visual appeal of it. The setting was all pastel and everyone’s costumes went well with the decor except that of Kriti Sanon. All-in-all, ‘Chedkhaniyan’ is an enjoyable love-cum-party track!
