Singer Shalmali Kholgade Marries Boyfriend Farhan Shaikh, Couple Uses Their Polaroid Pictures As Garlands. What An Idea!
On Tuesday, singer Shalmali Kholgade tied the knot with her boyfriend Farhan Shaikh. Seems like it’s raining weddings in Bollywood! The couple got married in an intimate ceremony held at her residence. Shalmali and Farhan included a special thing as part of their wedding ritual that grabbed our attention. Instead of the usual flower garlands, the couple used six polaroid pictures of themselves with a few marigold flowers in the wedding garlands. And the concept is so beautiful and unique!

Shalmali Kholgade and Farhan Shaikh dated for six years before making things official. The couple is expected to throw a big party for friends and family on Wednesday. We are patiently for more pictures!
Unlike many Bollywood celebrities who prefer grand weddings, Shalmali and Farhan’s wedding was rather simple, detailed and intimate. The beautiful bride wore an orange cotton saree with only jhumkas for the jewellery and a white gajra for the hair bun. Whereas the groom Farhan Shaikh opted for a plain orange kurta and white churidar pyjama.

The venue was the living room of Shalmali Khalgode’s apartment and a small copper vessel was used for the pious fire around which Shalmali and Farhan took their seven pheras. The wedding was attended by their parents, siblings and a few more relatives. The wedding was conducted by the ‘Pareshaan’ singer’s father.

Shalmali Khalgode and Farhan Shaikh paid an ode to their respective cultures and had a traditional Hindu as well as a Muslim wedding ceremony. While the singer’s father was the priest for the Hindu wedding, the groom’s brother-in-law recited the dua for their Nikaah.
