Shah Rukh Khan Fans Defend Him Against ‘Spitting’ Accusations During Lata Mangeshkar’s Funeral By Sharing ‘My Name Is Khan’ Clip

We all know that India is the land of diversity. With people from different cultures and religions living together, we all try to understand each other’s cultures in a better way. But some people always try to discriminate or treat people unfairly because of their religion or beliefs which is absolutely wrong. Recently, a BJP member accused Shah Rukh Khan of spitting at Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral. After that, his fans and others were quick to defend him against the false accusation and shared a scene from his film My Name Is Khan where he is blowing on her son after reciting a dua.

It started when Shah Rukh Khan attended the funeral of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on February 6. He paid tribute to her and recited a dua (prayer) and lowered his mask to blow air on her which is a customary act known as phoonkna. But some people like Arun Yadav who is the state in-charge of BJP Haryana’s information technology department misunderstood the act and without checking his facts posted a video on Twitter of the Main Hoon Na actor and wrote, “Did he spit?” His question sparked a controversy on social media platforms.

After that, a lot of people started targetting Sha Rukh Khan by claiming that he spat at the funeral and demanded an apology from him. However, a lot of people were touched by his respectful gestures at Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral, and they immediately came to his defence including Bollywood actresses Urmila Matondkar and Swara Bhaskar. Many people slammed Arun Yadav for spreading hatred gainst the actor.

These people should’ve checked their facts before spreading false news about Shah Rukh Khan. Such incidents can really harm someone’s image in the public.
