In many interviews, the director has talked about his bond with the particular subject and how he always finds himself leaning towards the stories of courtesans. In many of his iconic films, and period dramas, characters portraying the lives of courtesans has been an imperative member. Be it his latest hit film–Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring–Alia Bhatt or even Madhuri Dixit’s iconic character–Chandramukhi in Devdas. And knowing the Bhansali magic, we cannot wait for the series to drop on our screens.
