Mumtaz Asks Fans To Question Bollywood Directors, “Why Don’t You Cast Mumtaz, What’s The Problem?”
Former Bollywood star Mumtaz who turned 75 on Sunday, claimed that she is still able to dance in movies but that she is unable to “fly like Jackie Shroff’s son” while referring to the actors dancing skills. Mumtaz engaged in a live online discussion with her followers on social media and responded to their inquiries in a video that her daughter Tanya Madhvani captured.
Mumtaz was questioned by a fan regarding her encounter with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. When Mumtaz recently met him, she mentioned that it was her first encounter with him. She seems to have taken a liking to SLB as she lauded how hw portrays women. She said that he presents women like fairies, and knows how to showcase art, Mumtaz further added that he is a fantastic producer and director.
Heeramandi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series, is expected to include Mumtaz. When asked if she would appear in the upcoming Netflix original, Mumtaz ominously responded, that the fan ask the director (SLB). She said that she isn’t in a position to respond to their query.

Mumtaz talked about being cast in movies again and said to her fans that if they want to see her in films again, they should ask producers and directors why they don’t cast her anymore and what the issue is. She then said that even though they do offer her a role, it has to be something she likes.

Tanya, Mumtaz’s daughter, also had questions for her. Tanya enquired as to whether Mumtaz will now dance in a movie, adding that she thinks her mother is a talented dancer. Mumtaz claimed that she can dance, but cannot fly like Tiger Shroff. She added that Alia Bhatt is her favourite actor and that she thinks she dances well in addition to being beautiful. Mumtaz’s response to a question about why she did not marry Shammi Kapoor in the past was that she was merely 17 at the time, and he wanted her to quit her job.
