Samantha Ruth Prabhu Joins Varun Dhawan In Indian Spinoff Of Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Citadel’

A few days back, Amazon Prime announced, Varun Dhawan as the lead actor for the Indian spinoff of Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel. And now, adding to the anticipation, the lead actress for this spy thriller series has also been announced. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was recently seen in Yashoda will be playing the lead alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian remake of Citadel. For the unversed, Citadel’s original series is being directed by the famous Russo Brothers.

The Indian installment of the Citadel universe will be directed by Raj and DK. The Indian spinoff of the Russo Brother’s Citadel is yet to have a title, and it has been written by Sita R. Menon. On February 1, the digital partner of the series, Amazon Prime Videos announced that the lead actress to star alongside Varun Dhwan will be Samantha Ruth Prabhu. This will be the second project in which Samantha and the director duo of Raj and DK will come together. They had previously worked on The Family Man, which had Manoj Bajpayee playing the lead.

Prime Videos also released a picture of Samantha Ruth Prabhu with this announcement. She can be seen donning a smart and chic look. She is wearing a brown leather jacket with a pair of black denim. Those brown shades amp up her look. And the fresh pairing of Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu makes this Indian instalment, a more anticipated one.

Russo Brother’s Citadel stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The shooting for this series had already started in 2022 and it is all set to drop in 2023. Priyanka also shared some glimpses from her shoot, from which we can assume that there will be a lot of action and blood in this spy web series.
