In an old interaction with Komal Nahta, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan, stated that there is a contradiction in his son’s thinking which is why he isn’t married. He stated that Salman is mostly attracted to people he works with and that they are very exciting and good-looking people, adding that there is an attraction while working together. Salim Khan stressed how women in the film industry are often career-oriented, but Salman wants to get married and make them sit at home.

Salim Khan also revealed that Salman wants a traditional wife, saying  that when the commitment has started and they have started meeting each other, then the actor attempts to convert them and looks for his mother in them. Salim Khan shared that it is not possible. He further revealed that his son wants her to drop the children to school like his mother did for them, adding that Salman wants her to cook breakfast for the kids, make them do their homework, he wants her to do all these things that a mother would do at home. The veteran screenwriter shared that, if he expects this from a girl who is working in films, then it is not possible, even if the girl tries.
