In a startling turn of events, the recent firing incident outside Bollywood icon Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai has taken an international twist, as the post claiming responsibility for the attack has been traced back to Portugal, according to disclosures made by the police and the two suspects who fired the gun were also caught in Gujarat. The incident, which sent shockwaves through the industry and among fans alike, occurred just two days ago, prompting swift action and investigations from law enforcement agencies.

Following the gunfire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, a post surfaced on Facebook purportedly from Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, taking responsibility for the shooting. However, the latest revelation from the police indicates that the IP address associated with the said post originates from Portugal. This development has raised questions about the international ramifications of the incident and the potential involvement of individuals or groups beyond national borders. Speaking to PTI, a senior police officer disclosed that the IP address of the FB post was traced to Portugal and that they are verifying it. The possibility of a virtual private network (VPN) being utilized for posting the message is also under scrutiny, underscoring the complexity of modern cyber investigations. Other than that the two suspects who were seen in the CCTV footage outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment have also been caught by the crime branch in Bhuj, Gujarat and are reportedly being taken to Mumbai for further questioning.

In response to heightened concerns for Salman Khan’s safety in the aftermath of the shooting, the police have ramped up security measures. Despite the actor’s existing Y+ category security cover, the number of personnel guarding him has been augmented. Additionally, a Special Protection Unit (SPU) vehicle remains stationed outside his residence, complemented by increased patrolling and the deployment of local police forces. The incident, which occurred on April 14, 2024, saw unidentified assailants firing multiple rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence around 5 am. Prompt action by the authorities led to the apprehension of suspects by the Mumbai Crime Branch in the Bhuj district of Gujarat, as reported by ANI. However, the revelation of the post’s origin in Portugal adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation, hinting at potential international connections and motives behind the attack.
