‘Saakini Daakini’ Teaser: Police Novices Regina Cassandra And Nivetha Thomas Tackle Problems Way Above Their Pay Grade!
I personally believe that the entertainment industry needs to focus on telling stories with more female actors at the forefront. We are slowly inching towards this but are not there yet completely. And of course, we do not need labelling like ‘female centric’ for such projects either. We need to normalise having multiple actresses as the lead and need better stories which are neither crime-oriented nor biographies. Well, one such film is soon going to hit theatres and is titled Saakini Daakini. This Telugu comedy thriller is a Sudheer Varma directorial and is produced by Suresh Productions. The star cast of the film includes Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas. The film is slated for a theatrical release on September 16, 2022.

The one-minute-22-seconds long video begins with commands being heard from a police training academy and all the recruits practising and training hard. Regina plays the role of Damini whereas Nivetha essays Shalini. The two women have enrolled in the police academy to aim to become the best in the force but their personalities are poles apart.
Shalini is a bubbly and jolly girl who stretches her fist out for Damini to bump as she introduces herself, but the latter just offers a curt smile in return. Shalini is a happy-go-lucky girl who cares less about the outcome of her actions. She is a huge foodie and concentrates more on food than on her training. But Damini is the perfect one. She is a cleanliness freak and cringes hard when she sees Shalini’s messy cupboard.
The two of them d not see eye-to-eye and also are seen getting into a fight. But up ahead in the trailer, we get to see that Shalini gets hit in the hit with a rod by a criminal and Damini is also seen beating the baddies into a pulp! The two are up against a gang it seems.
