Richa Chadha Has A Bold Message For Those Body-Shaming Female Actors. Louder, Please!
Kaif also addressed the trolling and explained that she does not let the narrative on social media affect her self-worth.
Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif recently became the face of criticism after many targeted her for gaining weight after giving birth to her son. The body-shaming comments got so loud that others had to come in and slam the trolls for their insensitive comments. Amid this, actor Richa Chadha, who also became a mother in 2024, has hit back at all the trolls who target female celebrities after pregnancy.
What Richa Chadha Said
In a chat with India Today, Richa Chadha said such trolling doesn’t come from within the film industry but from the public. She further defended the industry, saying actors are often respectful toward women balancing motherhood and careers. Chadha further urged women not to listen to body-shaming comments and gave examples of veteran stars like Madhuri Dixit and Rani Mukerji who have done the same. She further said that it was the Indian “fat and balding common man” who passed such disgusting comments on stars like Katrina and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Richa further defended the film industry and said that the anonymity by social media gives chances to people to target successful celebrities.
During a recent event for her beauty brand in the UK, Kaif also addressed the trolling and explained that she does not let the narrative on social media affect her self-worth. She further urged women to make choices for themselves and not let such things dictate their actions. She said that if she had listened to all this, she would not be able to move ahead in her life. The actor further asked people to celebrate themselves and be their own cheerleaders.
