Bollywood actor Dia Mirza recently found herself in the middle of a controversy after she was trolled after her son Avyaan scolded a delivery man for bringing their coconuts in a plastic bag. After this clip went viral, many on the internet started criticising her and her son for the “entitled arrogance.” Amid this, actor Richa Chadha has come to her support and said this!

Richa Chadha recently took to her X (Previously Twitter) account and reposted a comment which stated how Dia Mirza pushes for ecological awareness yet drives in her Jaguar. Responding to this, Chadha wrote a long note questioning how people wonder why actors don ‘t speak up after all the trolling. She went on to call out the constant online trolling and spoke about the effects it has on actors’ mental health. Chadha further spoke about the pressure faced by women in the industry and argued that privileged women are often shamed for giving opinions on topics beyond beauty, fashion, or lifestyle.

Richa Chadha also defended Dia Mirza’s trolling even after her contributions beyond social media. The actor also pointed out that Dia was associated with a bamboo paper company promoting sustainable alternatives along with a plastic recycling startup making sunglasses. She further revealed that Mirza had also produced a short film based on climate change which was screened at Mumbai’s PardaFaash festival. Richa further urged people to do their research before criticising everyone.
