1. She has lost everything in her life as she knew it and has faced serious problems defending her truth. This has affected her in uncountable ways.
2. She explained the fact that she has lost faith in the American legal system and believes that this is the only way to achieve peace.
3. She compared the American legal system to UK’s legal system. She was shocked to see how her unprotected testimony in court was used by the media to publicly shame and ridicule her. This turned her into social media fodder. She was exposed to a type of humiliation that she simply cannot fathom facing again.
4. She believes that time is precious and she wants to move on and use her time more productively and purposefully instead of being caged in expensive legal procedures again and again.
5. She believes that the ‘impossible bill’ for standing with the truth is one that she just cannot afford. This isn’t just financial, it’s also costing her emotionally, physically and psychologically.
6. In settling, she is choosing to be free from the shadows of the past and move on to better things in the future. She is also doing so to focus on the work that has helped her heal and come out of pain.
