‘Ram Setu’ Teaser: Akshay Kumar Looks Like A Nerdy Scientist While We Blink-And-Miss Jacqueline Fernandez!
Archaeological drama films are an unexplored genre in Bollywood and the reason for that is quite unknown. Maybe because the filmmakers are too busy making thrillers, action and occasionally rom-coms? We wouldn’t know! But that notion is about to be broken by none other than Akshay Kumar, whose upcoming archaeological drama adventure film Ram Setu is all set to hit theatres soon! The movie is based on an archaeologist who goes out to explore if the Ram Setu is a myth or not. Apart from Akshay, the cast of the film includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev in prominent roles. It is helmed by Abhishek Sharma and the tease of the same was dropped on September 26.

The 56-second teaser video was all about Akshay Kumar wearing rimless glasses and looking like a scientist, while he hopped onto a helicopter to reach and save the Ram Setu. In the middle of the video, I was quite surprised to see a shot where Akshay wears an astronaut-type suit and its purpose is quite not yet clear. Amid all the chaos going on in the teaser, the cast is also seen visiting ancient places of importance and is well, just running around in the video!
Now, given the fact that it is an Akshay Kumar film, he will be kept in focus everywhere. But where was the female cast in the teaser? Jacqueline Fernandez has a sad blink-and-miss part in the teaser, and that, too, you have to rewind quite a couple of times to spot her. And surprisingly, Nushrratt Bharuccha was nowhere to be found at all! Umm, we get it that male actors “need” to be there in the limelight all the time, but that does not mean that the female leads will be so sidelined that people have a hard time even spotting them in the teaser.

Although Jacky was seen for a second or two in the Ram Setu teaser, she was not seen doing anything substantial. She was just running around and had a shocked expression each time as if wondering WTF is she even doing. Overall, the teaser gave no information except for when Akshay Kumar announced that he has only three days to save the bridge.
Well for the unversed, Ram Setu is the bridge that Lord Ram and his army built to reach Lanka to save Sita from the Raavan. The existence of this bridge even today has sparked a debate among people.
