Upasana Opens Up About Not Wanting To Have Kids With Ram Charan, People Questioning Her Ability To Reproduce
It’s not uncommon for society to question couples who choose not to have a child after a certain number of years. We automatically assume that the next step after shaadi is bacche! And when a couple, years into marital bliss chooses not to have kids, questions are raised by society. As much as we look down upon this, it’s still something that does happen. Tollywood couple Ram Charan and wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary. While the couple had made it amply clear that they have their own life goals and aren’t planning for kids, there have been pregnancy rumours and several questions from the media time and again. And now, in a recent conversation with Sadhguru, Upasana has reiterated that they do not want to have kids right now.

In a recent interaction with Sadhguru, entrepreneur and philanthropist Upasana Kamineni Konidela asked interesting questions about having children and why people always question her RRR, that is, relationship, ability to reproduce and role in life. Pointing out that she has been married for 10 years, Upasana said that she loves her family and her life very much and went on to question why people discuss her RRR more. Responding to her question Sadhguru said that her relationship is her personal so he will not talk about it but speaking of reproduction he states that he had earlier announced an award for women who decide to not have children despite being healthy.
Speaking further Sadhuguru told Upasana that the population is constantly increasing and that people are worried about carbon footprint but if the human footprint is reduced people won’t have to worry about global warming. He went on to add that it is good to see women who chose not to reproduce.

Well, we do agree. Reproduction is a choice and it should continue to remain a choice without any judgement or stigma around it. We support Ram Charan and Upasana’s choice to not have kids and if they choose to have kids, it’s their choice. Period.
