Kriti Sanon’s name refuses to leave the headlines. This happened after a Rakshabandhan advertisement starring her started making the rounds. The reason? People expressed their problems with her outfit and her tying the rakhi to her dog in the advertisement. Now, it seems that the jewellery brand that is associated with the campaign reacted to the same by removing it officially. Read on to know all about it below!

What Did The Brand’s Statement Say?

Days after the jewellery brand released its Rakshabandhan advertisement starring Kriti Sanon, they decided to remove it. They shared a statement on social media mentioning that they have the highest regard and deep respect for Indian culture, traditions and festivals. As a brand, they revealed they have always believed in celebrating those joyous moments with the entire family, and this time they wanted to extend the love and celebration to pets. The brand added that their recent advertisement has “inadvertently hurt the sentiments” of some segments of society and that was not their intent at all. Out of respect, the brand withdrew the advertisement from all media. They wished people all the love and positivity this festive season!

Kriti Sanon Reacts To Backlash

Before the jewellery brand pulled down the Rakshabandhan advertisement, Kriti Sanon reacted to the criticism by sharing a statement online. She penned that the essence of festivals is not in the clothes one wears but the emotions and meaning one holds for the traditions. The actress added that Rakshabandhan is a bond of protection, adding that she and her sister tie rakhi to each other. She expressed knowing that they can protect each other no less than a brother would. She revealed praying for each other’s health, happiness and long life. Kriti added that for them, this prayer and promise extends to their dogs too; after all, they are family! She further asked when people will stop telling women what to wear? According to Kriti, ethnic fashion has evolved over the years, but still a woman’s respect for her culture is measured with just her clothes!! She expressed that culture and traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline.
