MP Minister’s Jibe At SRK: He Should Try Watching ‘Pathaan’ With Suhana
What are these demands?
Who would have thought that an actress’ clothes in a song sequence from her movie would catch the Indian minister’s attention to the extent that they will demand its boycott? That is exactly what ‘Besharam Rang’ from Pathaan has landed in soup for. Deepika Padukone is wearing a saffron bikini in the song and that has triggered ministers, particularly from Madhya Pradesh. It was MP’s home minister, Narottam Mishra who raised offence over DP’s clothes and now, Girish Gautam, the state’s Assembly Speaker has said that Shah Rukh Khan should watch Pathaan with his daughter and upload a picture of him doing so as well.

As per reports, Girish Gautam said that the release of the film should not be allowed. Talking about how offensive the song is, he also went on to say that SRK should first watch the movie with his daughter and also upload a picture of that. Girish Gautam made this statement supporting the ban on releasing Pathaan in theatres.
The leader of the Opposition, Dr Govind Singh, and former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri are also in favour of banning the film. The latter said that the uproar is over clothes and not the film Pathaan. Furthermore, he said that any scene in Indian movies wherein a woman is wearing such clothes will not be allowed to be displayed publicly.

MP home minister, Narottam Mishra was the first who found problems with Deepika’s attire in ‘Besharam Rang’. He said that the actors’ costumes in the song are ‘objectionable’. He also took offence to the use of the colours saffron and green in the costumes of the track. Mishra also asked for the objectionable parts of the song to be ‘fixed’, and if they are not, the movie will not be screened in Madhya Pradesh.
It is sad that ministers in India are focusing so much on frivolous matters like these instead of the important issues at hand.
