However, Indian films never receive the recognition they deserve and it is a sad reality. But seems like things are changing this year. How? Because Indian films like Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, Kantara, and others are eligible for Oscars 2023. This is such great news, to be honest!

Recently, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a reminder list of feature films that are eligible for Oscars nominations. And you will be surprised to know that many Indian films have made the cut including SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan Alia, and Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, and Kantara starring Rishabh Shetty. Pan Nalin’s Chhello Show (Last Film Show), Me Vasantrao, Tujhya Sathi Kahi Hi, R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Iravin Nizhal and Kannada movie Vikrant Rona also secured a position in the reminder list.

The Oscars reminder list was released on Monday.

Two documentaries – All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen and The Elephant Whisperers by Kartiki Gonsalves are also part of the list. For the unversed, the reminder list includes films that can officially compete in various categories. However, it does not mean that the films that are featured in the list will be in the final nomination. The reminder list includes a total of 301 films from all over the world.
