Oscars 2022 Voting Has Begun. Here’s All You Need To Know About The Biggest Night In Film

If you are a lover of cinema, then there’s no chance that you don’t know about the Oscars. Also known as the Academy Awards, it is the most prestigious in the world of cinema. Hosted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), it started in the year 1929. Last year, the Oscars which took place after a global pandemic was filled with many surprises. We witnessed Chloé Zhao make history as the first woman of colour to win the best-director award, Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson became the first Black women to win the Oscar award for best makeup and hairstyling. Youn Yuh-Jung became the first Korean to win an Oscar and got starstruck by Brad Pitt and kind of flirted with him as well (we are jealous). And as the Oscars season is just around the corner, we can’t help but get all excited about the biggest night in the entertainment industry. So, here’s everything you need to know about Oscars 2022 so far.

This year, the 94th Academy Awards will take place on March 27 2022 at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center. The Oscars 2022 will be directed by Glenn Weiss for the seventh time and Will Packer will produce the show. Now every awesome show needs an awesome host, and after going hostless for three years, the Oscars 2022 will have multiple hosts. It includes Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short as per reports. Well as far as performances are considered, it’s surely going to be an epic night. On December 21, The Academy disclosed the shortlists of nominees for 10 categories including best original song and it includes H.E.R., who won an Oscar for “Fight for You” from Judas and the Black Messiah last year. The other nominees include “Automatic Woman” from Bruised; Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi for “Just Look Up” from Don’t Look Up; Kid Cudi and Jay-Z for “Guns Go Bang” from The Harder They Fall; Beyoncé for “Be Alive” from King Richard; and Billie Eilish for “No Time To Die.” But it’s quite unclear whether the performances will be live or pre-recorded like last year.
