After Saumya Tandon, Now Nehha Pendse AKA Anita Bhabhi To Quit ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai’. Can We Just End This Sexist Show Already?

To be honest, many of us are pretty much obsessed with some Indian TV shows. But many of them are serving the same age-old sexism BS with a mix of a little bit of humour with it and think it’s pure entertainment when it is clearly not. Just take the example of the hit television series Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai which uses perversion with a dash of unwanted slapstick comedy in the name of entertainment. I mean aren’t we done with this whole ‘bhabhi’ obsession? Upar se, the makers of the show are still facing trouble with the cast. The makers are in search of a new Anita Bhabhi as Nehha Pendse who is currently playing the role is most likely to quit the show in a couple of months. Take this as a sign na, guys. Just end the sexist show already, please?

According to the sources, the makers of Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai are in the process of searching for a new actress for the character Anita Bhabhi. The news came after Nehha ‘s one year contract is ending in April and she’s not interested in renewing it. One of the main reasons for her exiting the show is that Nehha has to spend hours travelling to the set and back home and it is affecting her health. Before her, Saumya Tandon used the play the character and honestly she was the only entertaining thing on the show. But she left the show in 2020 after five years.

The story of Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai is set in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It revolves around Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (Aashif Sheikh) and Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitash Gaud) who are fed up with their marriages. They always try to get the attention of each other’s wives – Anita Bhabhi (Nehha Pendse) and Angoori Bhabhi (Shubhangi Atre) with some stalker-like behaviour. The show very confidently normalises stalking, disregard of consent, eve-teasing and much more nonsensical things. But who cares if it is making us laugh, right?

We really think that the makers of Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hai should stop serving the audience age-old sexism in the name of humour and should also end the show now.
